Warm weather can be lovely for rabbits, guinea pigs and other small pets, but it can also make hutches, runs and indoor enclosures smellier, messier and uncomfortable much faster than usual. In summer, a clean, dry living space is not just about keeping things looking tidy. It helps your pet stay comfortable, encourages healthy hay eating and reduces the chance of damp bedding, stale hay and unwanted smells building up around their favourite resting and feeding areas. 1. Remove damp hay every day
Hay is an essential part of your rabbit or guinea pig’s daily routine, but in summer it can quickly become damp if it is left near water bowls, toilet corners or humid areas of the enclosure.
