Our first cut hay is coarse, which helps prevent common issues for chinchillas’ teeth such as overgrowth and maloccluded teeth, by evenly wearing down their teeth. Second cut Timothy hay is softer than our first cut Timothy hay, it is packed full of sweet leafy greens. We would recommend that you should feed your chinchilla with this cut of hay. Similar to our first cut second cut hay also wear down teeth. Nibble&Gnaw Timothy hay must be the main staple of a chinchillas’ diet! If you are feeding it to your chinchilla for the first time then it should be introduced slowly to avoid any digestive issues. It is suitable for chinchilla’s over 3 weeks. Hay should be available for your chinchilla at all times.
