Is there anything I can’t feed my rabbit?

It is not suitable to feed any vegetable, fruit or plant until you have checked that they are safe.

The question what can I feed my rabbit would be much easier – the list of what NOT to feed your rabbit is unlimited!  With vegetables for instance, you should not feed your rabbit lettuce as it contains lactucarium which causes diarrhoea in rabbits. Fruits are also overly sugary and should be fed only in small amounts. If you are treating your rabbit to a small piece of pear or apple, avoid the pips as they contain a small amount of cyanide which is harmful to rabbits.

It is best to search on the RSPCA or Rabbit Welfare Association website if you are in any doubt.
